Caroline Kennedy is said to be against the idea of her cousin Maria Shriver reuniting with her estranged husband Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Shriver’s cousin is reportedly determined to convince her to keep the philandering Governor of California away, even though the pair were spotted wearing their wedding rings this week for the first time since news broke that he fathered a child with the family’s housekeeper.

According to The National Enquirer, amid speculation that pleas from her children and her devotion to her Catholic faith have her reconsidering the divorce, Kennedy is being very vocal in her push for the divorce to happen.

“Caroline has been Maria’s harshest critic, saying, ‘Don’t do it, Maria. Don’t be a fool. Once a cheater, always a cheater’,” the Daily Mail quoted a Kennedy source as saying.

The estranged couple were said to have spent a happy Christmas together with their children Katherine, Christina, Patrick and Christopher.

While everything seems to be looking up within their immediate family, the same cannot be true on the outer realms of one of America’s most powerful clans.

“The reaction of Maria’s other relatives has been one of shock and horror and the most vocal opponents include Maria’s four brothers and cousin Caroline,” The National Enquirer reported.

“They are warning her that she is just asking for more heartbreak and devastation,’ the source continued,” it said.

The two cousins are said to be extremely close, and each served as one another’s maid of honour in their respective weddings.

The bond has apparently started to break, at least partially, since the couple broke up last June, as Kennedy cannot stand that her cousin is considering taking him back.

“They are incredibly angry and exasperated by her blindness,” the magazine added.
