Raveena Tandon Thadani
Daughter : Rasha, 6 YRS
Actor Raveena Tandon, who married film distributor Anil Thandani in 2004, has two children. She gave birth to a baby girl on 16 March, 2005 and a baby boy — Ranbir — on July 12, 2007. Tandon, 37, who took a hiatus from the industry, was quoted as saying, “I didn’t miss films. I wanted to enjoy my pregnancy and see my child growing each day. I run behind my kids, take them for their classes and birthday parties. Being a mother is a full-time job. More hectic than being an actress!”

Mahima Chaudhary
Daughter: Ariana, 4 yrs
After her secret marriage to noted architect Bobby Mukherjee, Mahima Chaudhary, who shot to fame with Subhash Ghai’s film Pardes (1997), gave birth to their daughter on June 10, 2007. The 38-year-old actor, who is enjoying her motherhood, was quoted as saying, “I really enjoyed being a hands-on mother to Ariana. It is the best role I ever played in my life. To be honest, being a mother has made me more empathetic, compassionate, patient and selfless.”

Karisma Kapur
Daughter: Samaira, 6 YRS
Karisma Kapur, who married industrialist Sunjay Kapur in 2003, gave birth to a daughter on March 11, 2005 and a son in March 2010. The 37-year-old, who is making her comeback with Dangerous Ishq, was quoted as saying, “I took a break as I wanted to concentrate on bringing up my children —Samaira and Kiaan. I didn’t want to miss out on them. Now, they are of age, so I can devote time to work. Motherhood has made me more responsible and mature. It’s the best experience of my life.”

Aishwarya Rai bachchan
Daughter: Not named, 10 days
Actors Aishwarya and Abhishek became parents of their first child — a baby girl on November 16, 2011. On the birth of the baby, grandfather Amitabh Bachchan was quoted as saying, “Goddess Lakshmi has come to our family. We are happy to have a daughter. This is what Abhishek and Jaya (Bachchan) wanted.” Sharing his happiness, Abhishek said, “I’m still getting used to the fact that I’m a father now. It’s great being Pa. But I hope I can be half a good a Pa to my daughter as mine is to me!”

Kajol
Daughter: Nysa, 8 YRS
Kajol, who married actor Ajay Devgn in 1999, took a sabbatical from the industry after giving birth to their first child — a daughter — on April 20, 2003. Talking about motherhood, Kajol, who later gave birth to a son — Yug — in 2010, said, “Motherhood is not only tiring, it is damn tiring! It is also fulfilling and awesome.”
