Even though it’s been roughly four years since Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s relationship ended, the two have remained tight-lipped about the details of their time spent together and why they subsequently broke up. As a result, there is a lot of curiosity surrounding them. And despite

them having admitted to being “good friends” — they are even doing a film titled Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani together — people still want to know what happened. And now, it seems like one person in the industry actually
might have the answer to that question.

According to an insider, in a rare incident, Deepika recently opened up to her Chennai Express co-star Shah Rukh Khan about her relationship with Ranbir. Not many know that Deepika, who made her Bollywood debut opposite SRK in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om (2007), shares a strong bond with the star and considers him one of her closest confidantes in the industry.

“They were both talking on the sets of Rohit Shetty’s film about how Ranbir and she had discussed taking things forward in the form of marriage. She was also overheard saying that in no other relationship had she ever reached this point or thought that far. Deepika was basically having a heart-to-heart chat with Shah Rukh; she just confided in him about how dear the relationship was to the both of them,” says a source from the film unit, before adding, “Deepika also said that there was a lot of innocence and passion in
their relationship, which is something that both of them will remember and cherish forever.”

We tried contacting Deepika, but she remained unavailable for a comment.
