Deepika Singh, aka Sandhya, in the popular Star Plus show Diya Aur Baati Hum, has been suffering from severe throat infection, and was hospitalised two days ago.

Producer Shashi Mittal says, “Deepika has had the infection for a while now, but this week it got so bad that she had to be

admitted to the hospital. First she was at a hospital in Mira Road but when her condition didn’t improve, she was shifted to Kokilaben Hospital, Andheri. She is in a lot of pain and is unable to eat or drink anything.” The actor is currently on a dose of antibiotics and will be under observation for two days. Mittal adds, “Her absence will not affect the show as we have a bank and will not need to alter the
storyline. She should be back by this weekend.”
