Katherine Jackson and Joe Jackson attend Michael Jackson's funeral service in California. MJ was laid to rest at a funeral attended by family and celebrities, more than two months after he died at age 50.
Michael Jackson’s mother has said that the four-year sentence given to Dr Conrad Murray is not enough. Katherine Jackson has spoken out about the maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter handed to her son’s former doctor. Murray was sentenced in a Los Angeles court after a
six-week trial that brought out the most detailed account of Jackson’s last hours.

“Four years won’t bring my son back, but that’s the law. So the judge gave him the maximum, so I thank the judge and I thank the prosecutors and I think everything went well,” the Daily Mail quoted her as telling KTLA.

Judge Pastor said one of the most disturbing aspects of the Grenada-born physician’s case was a slurred recording of Jackson from the doctor’s mobile phone.
“That tape recording was Dr. Murray’s insurance policy… It was designed to record his patient surreptitiously at that patient’s most vulnerable point,” he said.

Jackson’s three children - Prince, Paris and Blanket - said in the trial they lost their ‘father, best friend and playmate’.

They were not present in the trial but their statement was read by family friend and attorney Brian Panish.

Katherine Jackson had also given a statement in the trial that Paris was crying on the day of her father’s death saying, “I wanna go with you.”
