Post-marriage, life is busier than ever, says Bollywood actor Lara Dutta. In town with husband, tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi, to promote their maiden production venture — Chalo Dilli— the actor says work is still her priority.

“We’re both very busy. He travels 36 weeks of the year
and I’m busy with work. But, at the end of the day, it makes you feel happy that there is someone in the world who you can go back home to,” Lara says.

Mahesh-LaraWhen they are home together, does the actor do anything romantic for her husband, like making morning tea perhaps? “I don’t want to poison my husband just two months after marriage,” laughs Lara. “I have never tried my hand in the kitchen! I don’t have the time; I’m too busy getting ready to head to work every morning.”

As co-producers of the film, was there any work-related friction between them? “We laid down very clear roles. I was creatively involved and he took care of the business — we respected the boundaries. I trust him to take all business decisions and he leaves all the creative decisions to me.”
