In an attempt to expand his online presence, Bollywood's box office king Salman Khan joined Google+ Hangout. The Bollywood actor is already a part of social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

Speaking to NDTV, Salman Khan said during his Google+ hangout that he is a novice when it comes to social networking. When one of the fans asked the most common question put to Salman Khan - when will he marry - the actor said, "Marry, I don't know. But kids, I love them and want to have them. I am working on a way I can escape marriage and just have the kids."

The actor has also embarked on a hunt for a fan, who will be the co-manager for his first official fan club on Google+, read a statement on Wednesday. The winner will be hand-picked on the same forum by him. The URL of official Google+ profile is https://plus.google.com/+BeingSalmanKhan.

Salman Khan is also launching the Being Human page on Google+. His fans can connect on the page to contribute to the causes he supports and get exclusive sneak peeks at the latest merchandise his brand has to offer.

Around two years ago, when Google+ was still finding its feet vis-a-vis Facebook as a social networking site, Shah Rukh Khan took to Google+ hangout for promoting his film Ra.One. The whole crew of the movie, Kareena Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor talked to fans during the hangout.

Google+ may still not be a threat to Facebook in terms of numbers. However, it has gathered enough numbers to make Facebook launch the video chat application to keep up with Google+. With famous faces like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and even popular politicians like Narendra Modi, interacting with fans on the platform, what remains to be seen is how far can this take Google+ in the race with Facebook.
