Tamil actor Dhanush says it is easier to impress his father-in-law and superstar Rajinikanth than his wife Aishwarya.
Aadukalam walked away with the maximum trophies, including best director award for Vetrimaran, best actor for Dhanush, best original screenplay for Vetrimaran, best editing for TE Kishore, best choreography for Dinesh Kumar and special mention for VIS Jayaraman.
Dhanush got married in 2004 to actor Rajinikanth's daughter. "It was easy for me to convince Rajnikanth sir. Just be a nice human being and he will like you. The good
part was he liked my work, films," Dhanush said at the promotional event of his Bollywood debut film Ranjhana, recently.
The actor said it is not easy to impress his wife Aishwarya and he is still trying hard. "I think it is not easy to impress a girl, especially with the looks that I have. It is quite tough," Dhanush said. The actor is quite upbeat about his Ranjhana which marks his acting debut in Hindi films.
The film carries a scene, in which Dhanush is seen taking a bullet between his teeth, which reminds one of a similar scene in a Rajinikanth film. When asked about the same, Dhanush says, "He is a great actor. We all worship him. People are influenced by him...I did not do that scene thinking about his style...I will make sure I don't repeat it."
"I would choose a film on the basis of its priority. I will see if it excites and challenges me to do something different. I am waiting for this film to release. But somewhere, I have decided I would do one Tamil and one Hindi film," Dhanush added.
It was the script that made Dhanush choose Ranjhana as his Bollywood debut. "I did not see this film as Tamil, Hindi or Telugu. I did it because I liked it," he said. "I was not that much comfortable with the language...it was tough. It was not easy for me to do it but things fell into place and it all happened," he added.
Dhanush is also a playback singer, lyricist and producer, mainly in Tamil cinema.
