Anita Advani, who claims to have been the live-in partner of late actor Rajesh Khanna for nine years, moved court on Wednesday alleging domestic violence on part of Khanna’s family — wife Dimple Kapadia, daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinki Khanna and Twinkle’s husband Akshay Kumar.
In her petition to a metropolitan court in Mumbai, Advani has said that she was forcefully made to leave Khanna’s bungalow Aashirwaad, and this forceful eviction comes under the provisions of the Domestic Violence act. Advani’s lawyer Manohar Shetty says, “My client has demanded Rs.
10 lakh maintenance per month, Rs.
10 lakh for causing mental agony and physical assault and the possession of Aashirwad. If the court cannot give the house, then she wants Rs.
50 crore as damage or a premise of the same level in the same area. The notice has already been served to Khanna’s family and the hearing of the case is on November 27.”
While Khanna’s family remained unavailable to comment on the matter, Advani said, “I can’t talk much about it because the matter is sub-judice. I am not even in a mental state to say anything. I am just getting along, though life has been difficult.” About why she has moved the court four months after Khanna’s death, she says, “I was picking up pieces of my life. I was not well, I was depressed and devastated,” she says. Asked if she has forgiven Khanna for shunning her, as she claims, she says, “I don’t know if he shunned me or was made to shun me. He may have been manipulated.”
