Actor, model and food show host Padma Lakshmi recently stepped out for a party with her daughter Krishna, who had freshly-tonsured head.
The 41-year-old had gotten the two-year-old’s head tonsured after being inspired by a Mundan ritual where a child is freshly shaven to signify freedom from
the past and moving into the future.
The TV presenter carried her little one while strolling through New York’s Soho neighbourhood with her friends.
Wearing a traditional bindi on her forehead, little Krishna and her mother wore matching sunglasses.
The smiling child topped her T-shirt with a red circus-ringmaster-style jacket, blue jean skirt, black tights, and tiny motorcycle boots. Padma paired her black military-style jacket with shiny red boots, a striped shirt, and blue jeans.
The single mom even stopped at one point to feed her baby girl a frozen treat on top of a newsstand.
