A woman who claims to be late actor Rajesh Khanna’s live-in partner for eight years, has sent a legal notice to his family, staking claim of residence at Khanna’s posh bungalow Aashirwaad on Mumbai’s Carter Road.
The 50-year-old woman, Anita Advani, has interestingly evoked ‘the domestic violence act’ in the notice that was sent to Khanna’s estranged wife Dimple Kapadia on Tuesday, a day before Khanna died, demanding that she not be forced to vacate the bungalow.
Although Advani refused to divulge details to the media citing ‘trauma and grief’, sources inform that the couple had indeed been together. “Kaka had met Anita around 30 years ago when she was a college student, but they started living together only in 2004,” says a source, adding that for the past one month, Khanna’s immediate family had been trying to evict Advani out of the multi-crore property.
Mumbai daily Mid-day on Friday quoted a source saying that the tiff between Advani and Khanna’s family came into full public view when she allegedly tried to climb the vehicle carrying his dead body during the funeral procession on Thursday. “However, Akshay (Kumar) spotted Advani and asked her to get off, as the vehicle was only for family members,” says the report.
In an interview last year, Khanna had admitted to dating Advani, who is said to be the niece of former President of Philippines Ferdinand Emanuel Edralin Marcos.
Meanwhile, reports emerging out of Khanna’s family claimed that his bungalow would be converted into a museum, as per his last wish.
