Bollywood stars are particular about their food, boarding and timings when it comes to work, but arguably the most ostentatious are their vanity vans. While Shah Rukh Khan’s van is the longest (at 14 metres), Sanjay Dutt apparently spent Rs. 3 crore on his.

Now, we’ve heard that Ranbir Kapoor has added several personal touches to his vanity van (it is not owned by him). The actor has roped in production designer Amrita Mahal Nakai (who worked on his latest blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani; YJHD) to work on the design.
“Ranbir wanted to add an individual touch to his van without going over-the-top and being flashy. He is happy with the basic design of the vehicle. Amrita put up several posters of his favourite Hollywood films (such as Reservoir Dogs, Batman Begins and Four Rooms) in a row inside the van. A number of interesting accessories and some personal stuff has also been brought in,” says an industry insider.
That’s not all. An espresso machine has been installed inside the van too. “Like any other star, he spends a lot of time in his van, but still, Ranbir wanted it to be subtle. His van has his plush armchair, make-up mirror, a small sofa-cum-bed set and some of his personal belongings. It’s a very basic van which Amrita has customised as per his taste,” adds the insider.
While Ranbir couldn’t be reached for a comment, Amrita confirms the news, saying, “Ranbir wanted to personalise his vanity van a bit, so during the shooting of YJHD, I did a few basic things to make it special for him.”
