Actor Shah Rukh Khan
came to co-star Katrina Kaif’s
rescue on Sunday when a photo journalist took a dig at Kaif for answering questions in English and asked her to speak in Hindi at a press conference of their film Jab Tak Hai Jaan in the Capital.
When the photo journalist asked Kat to talk about her character in the movie, she started talking in English. The journalist interrupted and asked her to speak in Hindi. “You are from Bollywood, not Hollywood,” he said. SRK immediately defended his leading lady and said, “Could you stop being a little harsh please? You don’t talk to a woman like that. You might be enthusiastic in your approach but there is a way in which you ask questions or talk to people,” he lashed out at the journo.
“She speaks Hindi also. There is no questioning on the language that she speaks. I request you not to do that... don’t get confused with what language the actor speaks in. Whatever they are comfortable in, they have the right to do so,” he added. The same journo then asked Katrina if someone else dubs for her, and SRK intervened yet again, “She dubs herself.” However, the pestering didn’t stop. Another scribe then asked Kat to recite some dialogues from the film. “I can’t. Today is not my day, is it? I just want to say that please see the movie and hope you like the film,” she said.
SRK also seemed upset with rumours that the Hindi film industry is divided over the legal dispute between Yash Raj Films, producers of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) and Ajay Devgn
Films, the makers of Son of Sardaar, both of which are releasing today. “Bollywood is never divided. It’s just seen that way from the outside. We all love our films and it is not unfortunate that both the films are coming out together. We both expect to do good,” he said.
