Salman Khan to appear in court today for hit-and-run case: news report

Bollywood actor Salman Khan will be appearing in a Mumbai court today for his trial in the 2002 hit-and-run case, reports NDTV. The actor's lawyer Ashok Mundargi pleaded that both matters - revision application against the magisterial court invoking the charge of culpable homicide and retrial ordered by him in the 2002 case - be clubbed and heard by the same judge. Therefore, the hearing was shifted to March 11, 2013.

Salman Khan to be tried under stricter law
In a major setback for actor Salman Khan, the additional metropolitan magistrate's court at Bandra on Thursday added the harsher legal section of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
