Actor Salman Khan’s parents Salma and Salim Khan started an initiative that has now become a renowned charitable trust called Being Human. It helps spread education and healthcare for the underprivileged.

Now, under Salman’s guidance, the NGO is growing from strength to strength and has
recently partnered with Career Development Centre, a Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd initiative to empower rural, educated and underserved youth.

“My thought for Being Human right from the beginning was that the citizens of this country should never have to pay more then a rupee for getting basic healthcare or education. This is my dream…perhaps it might not happen during my lifetime. But we will eventually try to achieve it, as every single bit that we earn out of doing philanthropic acts goes into the trust. Kyunki maine akele abhi itna bhi nahi kamaya hai ki sab luta dun. So, there is still a long way to go,” says Salman who was recently in the Capital to announce the tie up and honoured the students who have excelled in their exams. Looking at one of the teachers, he said, “Aisi khoobsurat teachers milein, to main fir se school mein daakhila le lun. Humare time pe aisi khoosurat teachers nai hoti thi.”
