Actor Karanvir Bohra, who returned to the small screen with his hit show Saubhagyavati Bhava, is a huge fan of superstar Salman Khan not only professionally, but personally as well.

A source says, “Karanvir looks up to Salman Khan and considers him instrumental in his comeback on television.

In fact, for the last eight years, Karanvir has been celebrating festivals, holidays and birthdays with Salman and his family. Now many may know that Karanvir’s and Salman’s families go back a few generations, as Karanvir’s grandfather Ramkumar Bohra knew Salim Khan and Helen (Salman’s father and his second wife) extremely well. This was because they had worked in a few films together, including the famous Thief Of Baghdad (1951, Gujarati) as well as a play called ‘Plane Crazy About Love’.”

Ask Karanvir about Salman and the special rapport between them, he says, “Salman is my Dronacharya and I am his Eklavya! (Referring to the teacher-pupil characters from the Mahabharata). I learn a lot from him, just by observing him and his style of living. He is the man who has the maximum number of Rs 100 crore films in the industry, and yet he is so cool and calm.

I have always seen him tranquil and relaxed, which is extremely inspiring for me. I love the Eid dinners at Salman bhai’s place and Salma aunty (Salman’s mother) always makes the best sheer khurma.”
