Applause worthy: Suniel and Mana Shetty cheer up the ramp walkers.
Suniel Shetty and wife Mana are launching two new business ventures — a lifestyle store in the city and lavish villas at Khandala, under their company S2.

“My wife’s lifestyle store is called R-House. In January, it will open in Worli, next to the Four Seasons Hotels,” says Suniel, adding,
“We’ll stock affordable high-end quality products. This is a brand that Mana wants to build. Maybe 10 per cent of the products will be imported, but the rest will be Indian.”

Mana has tied up with around 70 interior designers from across the country to promote smaller Indian industries.

“Mana is working with local designers from the interiors of the country to get the best of what those places are popular for,” says Suniel, who is planning to open international
franchises of the stores in Europe, America, Dubai and Singapore.

Suniel says, “It’s unfortunate and ironic that we travel to Europe and America and end up buying products made in India. We are going to promote Indian products. This is to prove that our products are as good as those from any part of the world.”

The other project called Discovery in old Khandala comprises 21 luxurious villas for nature-lovers. They have been designed by John Abraham’s father and brother.

“It’s an exclusive project. Each villa covers an area of 6,500 square feet. This is my flagship project and we want the right kind of people to live here. It’s very nature-friendly, as the house and water are heated with solar power,” he says.

However, these high-end villas come with a fat price tag. “The prices will start at R7 crore,” says the actor. Both the projects will be launched in a grand manner in January with the couple’s friends from the film industry, corporate world and bureaucracy in attendance.
