That he is an emerging star is given. That he is charming shows. But unlike others his age, the World Cup winning captain of the Under-19 cricket team, Unmukt Chand, is yet to find a girlfriend. "I have many friends who are girls, but no one is the ‘one’ yet. Cricket dominates my mind right now.

There’s hardly any time to go out and search for someone. Yes, if someone comes my way, then you never know,” says the 19-year-old Delhiite. Endorsements, on the other hand, are falling plenty in his kitty. Apart from being roped in as the digital and social media ambassador for lifestyle brand American Swan, Unmukt also made waves by starring in a soft drink commercial recently along with his seniors, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina.
Ask him if they intimidated or bullied him in reality too, like in the ad, and Chand says, “We had a great time. Kohli and I know each other pretty well, so it was cool. I knew Raina as well. I met Dhoni for the first time. He is a very humble, down to earth guy.” Surprisingly, the teenager, whose inspirations are Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Kohli, and his paternal uncle, is also trying to keep his head grounded. “Life’s much the same for me. People’s perception has changed, but I like to keep it simple. I’ve got even more inspired after the world cup, because many amazing things have come up, but it all boils down to your performance on the field,” says Chand, adding, “What you expect from yourself is more fulfiling and satisfying.”
