With media and public sensitivity towards crimes against women at an all-time high, actor and martial arts expert Vidyut Jamwal wants to do his bit for society. He plans to conduct self-defence workshops for college-going girls and working women. A source close to Vidyut informs, “He has designed an entire module. These include simple techniques, which when mastered, can help women counter any physical attack. One only needs practice to effectively put these techniques to use.”

Vidyut has also requested the makers of his upcoming film, Commando, to use their social media pages to promote the workshop among women. “He will organise the workshop in Bandra and Andheri. The details are currently being worked out,” adds the insider.

Vipul Shah, who is producing Commando, confirms the news, saying, “Vidyut has been planning this and working on the module for quite some time. We would love to support his cause.”

The actor, who made his debut in the John Abraham starrer-Force (2011), is adept at various martial arts, including Kalaripayattu, which is a traditional fighting technique from Kerala.

Commando, which is his second release, will see him in an action-oriented role. He has reportedly done his own stunts in the Dilip Ghosh directorial.
