Aamir Khan gave a fresh chance to Abhinay Deo after his film Game flopped.
Anil Kapoor’s desi version of the international show 24 has created quite a buzz. While the shooting of the show has started in Mumbai, some roles are still being cast. And now, director Abhinay Deo has roped in his older brother, Marathi film actor Ajinkya Deo, in a pivotal role in the
show.

The Colors series of the same name is not only Abhinay’s TV directorial debut, but also marks the first time that he is directing his brother. While Ajinkya is excited about acting in it, he is also thrilled about co-producing the show with the Anil Kapoor Film Company (AKFC).

Ajinkya is no stranger to Hindi films and has worked in many in his long career and even appeared on some episodes of a horror series in 1996. “This is the first time that I will be directing dada (older brother in Marathi). He has produced movies for our home company, Ramesh Deo Productions, while I have directed them. But this time he’ll be playing an important role in 24, while also co-producing it,” says Abhinay.

“It’ll be a different experience for both of us.” The details of the role are being worked upon, while the shooting is on in Kurla followed by the next schedule in Borivali.

The original show starred Kiefer Sutherland as a counter terrorism agent, and each episode followed his life over the course of 24 hours. Abhinay is excited about the show. “I think 24 will help break the stereotype of our regular shows and also garner an entire new set of audiences for Indian television,” he says.

From his first taste of stardom with Mashaal in 1984 to becoming one of the most common Indian faces on international entertainment screen, Anil Kapoor has come a long way, creating a space for himself – a space that cannot be filled by anyone else.
