NBC has aquired the former, Saturday Night Live, star's new series, based on her brother Greg's life experience as an American in Stockholm.

The series will follow Bruce, an accountant who decides to leave New York and move to Stockholm after falling in love with a Swedish woman. Greg Poehler will make his acting debut in, Welcome to Sweden, playing something of a version of himself in a cast of both Swedes and Americans. Amy Poehler will make a few cameos, as will Will Ferrell, Gene Simmons and Patrick Duffy. Illeana Douglas and Swedish actresses Josephine Bornebusch and Lena Olin are also reportedly in the cast.
Filmed between Stockholm, New York and Los Angeles, Welcome to Sweden, was originally ordered by the Swedish channel TV4 last May.
Amy Poehler is the star of NBC's, Parks and Recreation, which has aired since 2009. She also hosted the 70th Golden Globe Awards Ceremony along with Tina Fey.
