Much has been written about his Adonis DNA and tiger blood rants, but actor Charlie Sheen, 47, has gathered himself back, after his infamous public meltdown in 2011.
Though his actions might have equal and opposite reactions, as seen in his ouster from his famous sitcom, Two and Half Men; but the actor is currently aiming to bring life back to normalcy with his latest show, Anger Management, which premieres in India today on Comedy Central.
The show received mixed reviews in the US, but you had a premiere with 5.5 million viewers there. Do you ‘now’ care about what critics say?
I don’t read anything, so I don’t know what they said, because if I believed the bad ones, I have got to believe the good ones.
A lot of articles call you the perfect sitcom star, that you know how to attract your audience. Do you agree?
I just think I have an ear for it. A good sitcom is much like the reason they still make strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Because people like to get back to basics...But you know that’s very flattering. If they want to insist that I’m the ‘perfect sitcom star’, then I will take the title. It’s better than lunatic melting down.
Since you have been in therapy and you have kind of worked out your anger issues, what comes after anger? Sweet revenge or peace of mind?
Peace of mind does come after anger.
What about your experience with the end of the show Two and a Half Men and doing all that crazy stuff?
Oh that show, yeah! I have turned it around where I didn’t get fired, I got traded, that’s all happened. And they carried on and they are doing the best they can and we are over here doing the best we can and there is plenty of room for everybody.
Any lessons you’ve learnt from this?
Yeah, stick to what you know and don’t take your dirty laundry public.
