Film maker Anurag Basu who had created iconic telly shows such as Tara, Saturday Suspense and Koshish ...Ek Aashaa feels fiction on TV has not evolved much in the last decade.  Elaborating on the same, Basu says, “Though non-fiction has evolved over years but not fiction. Similar fiction
shows are being launch these days. Programming is still what I left it as 10 years back”

He adds, “ We need to change audiences and what they want if we want to see different kind of programming.” So are we going to see him back on tv anytime soon? “To be honest, I do keep thinking what new should I do for TV. And whenever I feel there is anything new, I’ll definitely come back,” Basu says.

Having helmed hit films like Barfi!, Gangster, and Murder, Basu will be seen in the judge’s chair for the first time for India’s Best Dramebaaz — an upcoming  the talent hunt show on Zee TV for children in the age range of 5-12 years. “I said yes to this one because the format is new” he says.
