On Friendship Day, we talk to popular TV actors — Sanjeeda Shiekh and Delnaaz Irani — on their best friends among actors.

Sanjeeda Shiekh says her actor friends make her feel secure
“I have been friends with Mouni Roy for six years and Aamna Sharif for three years. They are my true friends. You don’t want to be friends with someone who back bites you which happens a lot in this industry. We don’t no competition between us. We don’t talk about work or discuss roles. We don’t vie for the same role and respect each other’s work. We are happy for each other’s success. I know what they think and feel for me and want the best for me. We ensure to remain in touch and don’t have to meet each other daily. Yet every time we do, our bond strengthens. At times even if we meet once a month, we are on the same page. Its not easy for me to make friends but when I do its for life.”

Delnaaz Irani talks about who she considers her true pals are in the industry
“Yes it is tough to be friends with actresses in this industry but I am blessed with some good friends. I have non actor friends too, who are close to me, but from the industry, my closest friends are Rupali Ganguly, Moon Banerji, Karishma Tanna, Chitrashi Rawat. Our work never comes in between us ever. I don’t feel jealous of anyone or their careers. This industry is so cut throat that even if an actor knows that she isn’t going to be doing a role in a particular show, she won’t tell her friends about it because she doesn’t want them to get into a particular channel or production house. That’s not the case with us. In fact if there’s a project that doesn’t work for me or has a good role for one of them, I have asked them to try and even recommended their names. It’s very sisterly with all of them. Rupali, Karishma and I bonded during Zara Nachke Dikha and we have been there through thick and thin. I remember when my father passed away, Rupali was with me day and night during the first few days as was Karishma. We all keep in touch on a daily basis. Aashka Goradia was a good friend but since Bigg Boss last year she has become a close friend. We go a long way and did a show, Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo, and she was a newcomer then and had done one episode. We hit it off completely.”
