Appearing on TV shows adds to the reputation of any celebrity, as film stars queue up to make their small screen debut.
So when Arbaaz Khan was approached to be a judge on Comedy Circus, and he turned it down, it created quite a buzz.
Apparently, Arbaaz’s brother Sohail Khan is
quitting the show as he has to work on his directorial with Salman. So the producer, Vipul D Shah had spoken to Arbaaz to replace him, as the judge, but Arbaaz refused.
Arbaaz says, “They approached me to be part of the current season to fill in a certain number of days as the replacement judge, because Sohail might get busy with his new film. But I won’t be doing it. There is no point in appearing in just a few episodes. If I do a show on television, it won’t be for a few episodes only.”
But the filmmaker isn’t averse to taking up a TV project in the future. “I may consider one if I get the commitment for an entire season. I am not coming in as a stopgap measure or a replacement for anyone. I need the assurance that the next season is definitely with me. But they can’t commit for the next season as they are working only on the current one. I told them that next season if you feel the need and consider me, we will talk,” Arbaaz adds.
After the release of his Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg 2, Arbaaz is already working on his next film. “I have started thinking about it and I will produce it. Direction will take a while, but I am hearing scripts and meeting people. When things are a bit more concrete I will talk about it.”
