Priyanka Chopra’s debut single, In My City, which has garnered a lot of attention in the west, has now earned her another honour. The actor recently became the first Indian celebrity to feature on the American show, X Factor. The Barfi! actor, who has been regularly visiting Los Angeles and New York

to promote the single and its official music video, was sent a special invite to appear on the show.

A source close to the actor reveals, “Priyanka has been interacting with the international media as part of the promotions for a while now. As a result, people in America now have a fair idea of who she is. Probably that’s why she was invited.”

According to the source, when Priyanka shot for the top-rated reality show on November 8, the audience too didn’t take too long to recognise her.

“The song seems to have got her a lot of mainstream popularity,” adds the insider. During her time spent on the show, apparently the actor also bonded with the franchise creator Simon Cowell, the man who is most-popularly known for his caustic comments as a judge on American Idol.
