Ram Kapoor could play my father: Aman Verma

Television actor Aman Verma.
Last seen on shows like Laado and Choti Bahu, actor Aman Verma doesn’t mind playing the bad guy on the small screen. “For me a negative or impactful role that changes the story completely is more fun. I keep getting offers to play someone’s dad or elder brother but that doesn’t excite
me.
Roles for guys on TV are few and far between. You need to be lucky and talented to get the good ones. Other than Ram (Kapoor), Ronit (Roy) and Hussain (Kuwajerwala) none of the actors who came with me a decade ago are still around,” he says.
Fondly remembered as his character Anupam from Balaji’s popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Aman feels that, Bade Achche Laggte Hain is currently leading the league of daily soaps. “I find it funny now that Ram Kapoor once played my younger brother in a show called Ghar Ek Mandir. And today when I stand next to him, he looks like my father and could even play that role in a show.
Ram and I are good friends. He knows he has a problem with his weight, so it is a pleasure taking a dig at each other.” He’s worked with Ekta in the past, but not recently. Why? “You will have to ask Ekta that,” he says. “If I get an opportunity to work with her I would love to.
We are still in touch on and off through SMS. There is no love lost between her and me.” Aman will next be seen hosting the game show Khulja Sim Sim, which goes on air next month on Big Magic.
