Sushant Singh Rajput too busy for Ekta Kapoor

Television producer Ekta Kapoor recently threw a grand party to celebrate the completion of the 1,000th episode of her hit show Pavitra Rishta. The entire cast and crew of the TV show was invited, including Sushant Singh Rajput, who earlier essayed the role of Manav on the successful show.

However, the actor decided to give the major party a miss. A source close to the unit says, “Sushant quit Pavitra Rishta two years ago saying he wanted to pursue a filmmaking course in the US. Instead, he signed a film with UTV. Since then, his relations with Ekta have been strained. This would have been a good chance for him to reconnect with her.”

Bollywood’s latest hot property, Sushant, who has just made his film debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che, was obviously conspicuous in his absence. His girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande, however, defends him, saying, “Sushant was not in town. He’s in Jaipur shooting for a Yash Raj film. I especially missed him when we were cutting the cake. We were together on the show for 650 episodes.”

Ekta partied along with Ankita and the present cast of the show, including Rithvik Dhanjani, Mrinalini Tyagi and Hiten Tejwani. Usha Nadkarni who plays Manav’s mother, was the other person who was absent from the event.
