Once you’re a known face in the entertainment world, it is a given that you will put your foot down and ensure that things happen the way you want them to. And obviously, every TV ‘star’ worth their salt tries to test the limits of the channel, production house or publicist, who will bend

backwards to fulfil their whims and fancies. Sometimes, it leads to a ruckus; but mostly, it’s merely irritating.
Apparently, Ram Kapoor refuses to give time to the media on the sets of his show.
Elsewhere, it was reported that Jennifer Winget refused to do intimate scenes with her co-star in her show, Saraswatichandra.
While demands of having their favourite hairdressers or personal make-up artistes, and not one that are shared with other actors is a common ‘request’, one reality show star even wanted 20 bodyguards for promotional events organised in multiple cities in India.
The channel simply ignored it. Ditto for the demand of the husband of a popular actor who claimed he had never flown business class and wanted his flight tickets upgraded.
The other challenges the executive producer on a show, publicist and channel representatives face on almost a daily basis is a ruckus over costumes. Once, a star refused to wear a green kurta for a press conference, so another one had to be arranged for him within minutes.
From not talking to a certain news channel as it aired a negative story on them to passing the food bills after feeding their families, and issues about not sharing make-up rooms, delaying shoots, and negotiating payments, there is a lot of drama that goes on behind the glossy sets of the small screen.
If a demand is reasonable or within limits, the channel and production house fulfill it. But when they turn into daily challenges for everyone in the unit, after a few ultimatums, they use the replacement therapy.
