Cable channel AMC and Fox Television Studios have put an end to months of speculation. The Killing, which was canceled last summer, has been resurrected and will start filming its third season on February 25, 2013 in Vancouver (Canada).
AMC came back on its initial decision. Last July, it
canceled The Killing, a series that drew less than two million viewers. Netflix then showed interest in taking up the drama based on a Danish series.
AMC finally changed its mind and will broadcast the third season itself, thus heralding the return of lead actors Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman. The story will pick up a year after the end of the Rosie Larsen affair. Investigator Stephen Holder calls his former partner Sarah Linden, who has quit her job, to solve a new case, a series of murders linked to one of her old investigations.
The first two seasons of The Killing drew an average of 1.9 million viewers.
