After working with him in a segment of the film Bombay Talkies, director Anurag Kashyap will once again collaborate with the actor for a TV show.
At a press conference for the show, Bachchan didn’t divulge its genre. “We are in the process of creativity and will announce that at a later date. I was eager to work with Anurag as I am appreciative of his work.
We spent many hours together in the last six months while working on this project. There are many serials running on TV which one can appreciate. But one can make a show which has different kind of production value with a story that the audience hopefully will appreciate,” he said.
“TV is a growing industry with around 460 channels. The turnover in TV is much higher than films. TV is a demon that wants content to air and we hope people like the content we come up with,” adds the actor.
On being asked if his larger than life stature would be befitting of the small screen, he says. “I will be 71 soon, now there is nothing like stature. I want to do whatever I haven’t done in life.” He admits to not discussing much about the venture with his family either:
“Fortunately they haven’t asked many questions.”
Anurag adds, “The series has been written and we start shooting in a week. The idea is to keep the audiences enthralled and not drag it on. Now that Mr Bachchan has decided to break new ground, he’s demanding, in a good way. He has lots of questions, so you better be well researched.”
Big B’s baritone for new docu
Amitabh Bachchan is believed to be close to industrialist Anil Ambani and his family. And for the sake of this friendship, Big B, despite his busy schedule, will do something special for the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri. The veteran actor tweeted: “And tomorrow to do the voice over for National Geographic as it makes a document on the Kokilaben Hospital, here in Mumbai (sic).”
