Sanjay Dutt will soon share screen space with south superstar Rajinikanth. If all goes well, the duo will act in a film by south director KS Ravikumar. This will be the director’s second Hindi film after he completes Policegiri, which he is currently shooting with Sanjay.
A source from the production house reveals that Sanjay and the makers met Rajinikanth during the Hyderabad schedule of the film. “Ravikumar has worked with Rajini in a couple of films, so they share a great rapport,” says the source.
Soon after the meeting, Rajini agreed to star in the film. Producer TP Aggarwal confirms the casting coup, saying, “Yes, we are going to have Rajinikanth and Sanjay Dutt in the same film. KS Ravikumar has worked with Rajini on Rana (yet to release).” Ravikumar’s repertoire also includes films like Muthu (1995) and Padaiyappa (1999). Aggarwal says that the idea of making a big-budget film with Ravikumar and the two actors has been on his mind for a while.
Currently, the makers are working to develop a story that justifies the presence of both, Dutt and Rajinikanth. “We are looking for the right subject. The film will probably be made in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously,” says Aggarwal.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the makers are looking for another south actor to star in the film. Unwilling to reveal the names of those who are in consideration for the part, Aggarwal adds, “We are yet to finalise anyone. We have spoken with a few south actors for some other films we are working on, but not this one.”
