The Daily Mail has revealed that Hathaway, who is the favorite to win the 2013 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Les Misérables, is again going to be involved in a musical film.
Hathaway, who played Fantine in Tom Hooper's musical drama, will play an archeologist who
returns home from Morocco because her brother has been wounded. Her character will then fall in love with her brother's favorite musician.
Based on the 19th century French fiction novel by Victor Hugo, Oscar-nominated Les Miserables explores a new genre of film noir. Directed by Tom Hooper, the musical film has an all-star cast including Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe.
Hathaway will be on familiar ground in this movie produced by her husband, Adam Shulman. She will be acting alongside young British musician Johnny Flynn. The screenplay was written by Kate Barker-Froyland, who will also direct the movie.
The Daily Mail also mentioned another Anne Hathaway project that has yet to be confirmed. She is apparently considering playing the lead part in My Fair Lady on stage and even on the big screen with Colin Firth.
