Abhishek Bachchan is a huge football fan, often tweeting about his love for the Chelsea football club. And next month, the actor will play the beautiful game himself when he participates in a charity match against a team composed of Indian cricketers for the Playing For Humanity (PFH) campaign.A
source close to the actor reveals that Abhishek, who was shooting for Dhoom:3 in Switzerland till recently, started practicing there in his free time.
The actor flew back from Switzerland on March 15, and will continue his practice sessions in Mumbai. “He will be playing some matches as part of a local club to understand the dynamics of professional football,” says the source. Initiated by filmmaker Bunty Walia, the All Stars Football Club (ASFC) includes Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sachiin Joshi, Shabbir Ahluwalia and Karan Wahi, among others. They will face the cricketers’ team, which comprises Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan among others.
When contacted, Abhishek remained unavailable for a comment. However, his publicist confirmed the development, saying, “Abhishek is extremely kicked about the PFH campaign. He would practice his game whenever he got the time in Switzerland. In fact, Abhishek flew down two days earlier than planned to join the rest of the ASFC team for their weekly practice.”
