Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has won many a hearts with his Bollywood debut, Vicky Donor (2012), and has carved a place for himself in the industry. In Delhi recently, the RJ-VJ turned actor shared the journey of his career from a radio station to the big screen, with us. “I just went with the flow.
There’s no formula for success. There’s no wrong time to do the right thing. You are at an advantage if you’re from outside Mumbai. Your cultural influence is a plus. You see the city as an outsider and have a good perspective. First you become a fan of the city, and then you turn an admirer. Then you take baby steps and it’s a gradual transition.”
Nautanki Saala is Rohan Sippy's next which stars Ayushmann Khurrana.
The Chandigarh lad is all set for his second outing in Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala. “It’s a quirky, light-hearted film. My character is a helpful guy in real but plays Raavan onstage. Kunaal Roy Kapur’s (the other lead) character has a suicidal tendency and I save his life in the film. Main ‘nautanki’ hu and Kunal ‘saala’ hai Vidya Balan ka,” he jokes, and adds, “It’s not a slapstick comedy. It’s a sensible, situational film. Our endeavour is to make people smile,” says the actor who was at the Fever 104FM office to promote the film. The actor is currently shooting in Delhi for Yash Raj Films’ untitled project with Sonam Kapoor. So what’s his future plan? “There’s no plan. I’m an overgrown infant and I live in the present,” he signs off.
