Power of influence helps in making better choices: Kareena Kapoor

An Indian news magazine has named Kareena Kapoor in the list of 25 most influential women in the country. Kareena, who is the only Bollywood star in the list, feels that such an honour comes with responsibility towards the nation and her fans.

“With wider influence, comes additional

accountability. My fans look up to me and are influenced by my decisions, which I make sure are taken responsibly,” says the actor.

Kareena is a privileged member of the first family of Indian cinema, the Kapoors, and is now married to the Nawab of Pataudi, actor Saif Ali Khan.

But she isn’t shy about using the power and influence she enjoys in the industry.

“It feels great that you are looked upon as an icon. The power of influence helps you do better and make choices that allow you to maintain a certain benchmark that well-wishers are proud of,” says Kareena.

The actor is currently shooting for director Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha with Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Ajay Devgn and Arjun Rampal.

She plays a journalist who gives an insight into the political system of the country.

However, Kareena avoided our question about whether the movie has influenced her views on the system.

Kareena Kapoor is born on 21 September 1980. The actress debuted in Bollywood with JP Dutta's Refugee in 2000. Kareena's parents Randhir Kapoor and Babita are also actors.
