Marking the inauguration of the German House for Research and Innovation in New Delhi (DWIH), the German embassy and the German Research Foundation will organise a Grand Science Slam on October 27, 2012, at Millennium Indraprastha Park, Sarai Kale Khan. A great platform for researchers, the event
will include topics from all fields of science, including humanities and social sciences. Young scientists and science enthusiasts will showcase their best and most interesting scientific projects to eminent researchers and the general public. Slammers have chosen topics from medicine/physiology, “green” life sciences, physics/mathematics, geo sciences, chemistry and process engineering/engineering, informatics and social sciences. The six finalists who will present their slam topics have also been announced. The call for participation was made in early September and a total of 46 applications were received from young researchers from institutions including the University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Patna, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras. Students, researchers and higher education institutions from Germany will participate in the event.
