Manipuri playwright and theatre artiste, Swar Thounaojam, 32, was allegedly heckled by a traffic policeman and a section of the crowd after her car met with an accident in Bangalore on Wednesday.
Thounaojam was returning home from work around 7pm. While she waited for the green signal at the DVJ road junction, a biker hit her car from behind, damaging the rear bumper.
When Thounaojam got down from her car to check the damage, the rider allegedly started abusing her. Soon a group of onlookers gathered and joined the motorist in abusing her.
When she approached a traffic policeman, he too misbehaved with her. “I tried to explain to him that the rider was at fault, but the cop was rude”, she said in her complaint. She has lodged a complaint against the police constable and others for sexual harassment and criminal intimidation and filed a separate complaint about the accident.
