The state unit of ABVP has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the pre-medical test (PMT) scam that hit the state last week, saying that several aspects of the scam are yet to see the daylight.
Regional organising secretary of ABVP Vishnu Dutt Sharma said the chairperson and the controller of examination of the Professional Examination Board should have been removed from their posts before starting the detailed inquiry.
He said it is impossible that the senior authorities were unaware of the happenings in their department.
He said by allowing fraudsters to become medical students, those involved in the racket have actually put the lives of people of the state in danger.
Thus, all the 1,000 students who are supposed to have appeared in PMT fraudulently during course of last few years should be identified and action initiated against them.
