Ten days after a Swiss woman was gang- raped in Datia, the police on Tuesday filed the charge-sheet in the local court against the six accused who were arrested for the crime soon after the incident.
The nearly 100-page charge sheet was presented by the police today. The accused have also been charged with robbery. The prosecution insists that they have enough forensic evidences to prove the culpability of the accused.
When contacted DIG police Chambal range Dilip Arya confirmed that the charge sheet was filed in the court of ADJ. The charges were framed against the accused and the trial in the case would begin from March 30.
The victim, a 38-year old woman hailing from Switzerland, was on a bicycle tour from Orchha to Agra, along with her companion, when the incident had occurred. They had camped in the open in forest area when half-a-dozen armed persons had raped her (on March 16).
Incidentally, the test identification parade was not conducted but police insist that the scienfic evidences have made a clear water-tight case against the accused.
