Free pathology tests launched in state

Free pathology tests scheme was launched in all government hospitals and health institutions throughout the state on Friday.


Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the scheme at Pachore in Rajgarh district. Water resource minister Jayant Malaiya inaugurated the scheme in JP Hospital, the district hospital of Bhopal.

Under the scheme, all free pathology test facilities will be made available as per list of mandatory tests at health institutions at various levels.

As per the list, five types of tests will be done free at subhealth centres, 16 at primary health centres, 25 at community health centres, 29 at civil hospitals and 38 types of tests fill be conducted free at district hospitals.

In future, the number of free tests will be increased to 28 at community health centres, 32 at civil hospitals and 48 at district hospitals. This facility will be available to all APL and BPL patients, OPD and indoor patients. Appliances for tests are provided to various health institutions after assessing requirement for appliances/ material. Suggestive list for institution-wise necessary appliances has been issued from the state level.
