A student of class 6, Amardeep Rawat, was allegedly kidnapped while he was returning home in Janta quarters from his school on Tuesday afternoon.
However, Amardeep managed to escape from the clutches of the kidnappers and returned home safely. He told his parents and police that two armed men suddenly appeared in a van in the Sukhliya area and pulled him inside the van.
They threatened him to keep quiet with guns and knives and took him to the railway station.
They boarded the Nizamuddin Express and here too they kept on threatening Amardeep, as a result of which he kept quiet.
Amardeep said from what he overheard, his kidnappers were planning to take him to Kashmir.
Soon after the train started moving, he seized an opportunity and managed to slip inside the bathroom. His kidnappers searched for him in the train but could not find him. Amardeep got down at the first station, which turned out to be Dewas.
He approached a man and called his parents where he was. The man dropped him at Dewas Kotwali police station.
Meanwhile, when Amardeep did not reach home by evening, his father Satish Rawat got worried. When he was about to approach the police, he received a call from his son. They rushed to Dewas and brought back Amardeep.
In Dewas, the Kotwali police did not take any statement of the child. Satish also approached the Pardeshipura police and they too only took an application.
Indore ASP Dilip Soni said the boy has described one of his kidnappers as being bald and the other had long hair. ASP Soni said they would investigate the matter and will register a case, if needed.
This is the second such incident occurred in three days. On Monday, Shivam Dube, a resident of Jagriti Nagar, was allegedly kidnapped by two men in a car in Juni Indore area.
However, he had managed to escape and returned home. A complaint was lodged at Juni Indore police in this regard, though the police said they were finding it difficult to digest the story.
