Giving this information at the state BJP election campaign committee meeting held on Tuesday, Tomar said the drive would cover all the 230 assembly segments of the state to culminate into a massive public rally at Bhopal on September 25, the birth anniversary of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay.

He said the beneficiaries meets had started from June 23 which would come to an end on July 6. Nagar kendra and gram kendra conventions would be held as per the party’s plan.

The state BJP affairs incharge Ananth Kumar also threw light on the campaign and asked the party workers and leaders to attack the Congress in general and the then chief minister Digvijay Singh’s rule in particular during the election campaign.

The BJP leader also attacked Uttarakhand government on its decision not of not allowing leaders other than the chief ministers to get in the state.

He asked if that was the decision then how come Rahul Gandhi was visiting the state.
Member of Parliament from Bhopal Kailash Joshi and senior party leader Kailash Sarang suggested man to man, home to home and village to village election campaign.

Some party leaders, however, had reservation about the date of the CM’s campaign.

They said since during Shravan month Mahakal’s procession was taken out in Ujjain, the day would not be suitable for the campaign as it might lead to swelling of crowd and chaos in the town.

However, some other leaders suggested that since Mahakal Sawari would be over by the afternoon the drive could be taken out in the afternoon.
