The Madhya Pradesh state government on Monday announced the creation of 10 posts of financial advisors for 10 key departments. The matter was under consideration for quite some time. Most ministries under the Union government have financial advisors.
The financial advisors play the role of budget making for the department and all matters related to finance of schemes being executed by the department.
The departments under the state government where posts of financial advisors have been approved include urban administration, school education, rural development, public health and family welfare, women and child development, forest, home, water resources, public works department and energy department.
The post of financial advisor has been approved for the pay band Rs. 37,400-67,000 with grade pay of Rs. 8,900.
The posts of financial advisor in various departments would be manned by officers from the treasury and accounts services or members of the all India services of the additional secretary rank.
At the Centre, the post of financial advisor is usually clubbed with the post of joint secretary or additional secretary.
