After Kanshi Ram, it is Phool Singh Baraiya alone who can restore prestige and pride of Dalit samaj,” he asserted.

The rally termed ‘Shadayantra se Bachana Hai’ (protection from conspiracy) evoked good response from the audience and leaders who had converged from various states.

It was aimed at sending a clear message across Dalit and backward communities that Baraiya, and not Mayawati, is the most acceptable leader after Kanshi Ram.

Mayawati remained at the helm of affairs by hatching a conspiracy and keeping Kanshi Ram as hostage first in hospital and then at house, accused Baraiya.

“She (Mayawati) was not Kanshi Ram’s successor and she didn’t continue his legacy. Instead fearing challenge from Baraiya, she ousted him from BSP only to take absolute control of vote bank and funds,” Baraiya added.

Baraiya said all political parties, including BJP and Congress, have their eyes focused on backward and Dalit community vote bank.

They know that without the support of these communities they can’t win.

He cautioned the community voters not to get carried away by false propaganda and promises of political leaders.

“If Baraiyya becomes the chief minister of state he will restore and uphold the pride of dalit and the backward communities which nobody attempted in the past,” he said. He criticised the BJP government for misrule and rising atrocities on women.

Meanwhile, over Rs. 7 lakh were collected as donation for the party.

A large audience braved the bad weather followed by incessant rain to listen to their leaders. Prominent among those present included Jai Narayan Sagar, Sant Ji, Damodar Yadav, RB Pandaya, Jamna Prasad, Kuber Singh Rawat, Pratyajeet Singh, Jawahar Singh Rawat, Rakesh Kushwaha, Santosh Singh, Balwant Singh, Swami Indraj Jeet and Anil Ramji.

A home guard jawan was run over and killed by a truck on Bhind-Etawah national highway-92 on Saturday night.

Sub- divisional officer of police ( SDOP) Chandrapal Singh Tomar said police were patrolling at Phooph square on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday around 1am when a speedy truck, coming from Bhind, ran over a home gurard jawan Purushottam Kushwaha, 45.

He died on the spot.

The truck driver did not stop there and fled.

The police have registered a case against the unidentified truck driver and started investigation.
