Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who reached Rewa under his Jan Ashirwad Yatra on Sunday, said he was prepared to give detals of what the BJP government had done in 10 years of its rule, if the Congress gave details of development works carried out in the 50 years before the BJP regime.

Taking a dig at veteran Congress leader from Rewa Sriniwas Tiwari, chief minister said during erstwhile Digvijay Singh rule, he was the uncrowned king of Vindhya and nothing could have taken place in the region without his blessings but he, too, never thought of developing the region.

Ambitious irrigation projects like Bansagar, Gulab Sagar were incomplete for years and it was during BJP regime that they were brought to completion.

Unfinished canals of Bargi dam were being completed to the benefit of thousands of farmers.

The chief minister addressed public meetings at Rewa and Govindgarh.

He assured the people of Govindgarh that a government college would be at place there by the next academic session.

A mini stadium would be constructed in the polo ground.

He reiterated his promise that an industrial corridor would be created linking Jabalpur, Satna, Katni and Singrauli for rapid industrial development of Vindhya region.

He also announced naming of zoo being constructed at Mukundpur after Rewa royal family’s descendant Maharaja Martand Singh.
