In a bid to arrange money, which could be used as bribe to clear supplementary exams, three Class 12 students stole computers and electronic goods worth Rs. 1.5 lakh from Raja Bhoj Higher Secondary School situated at 1100 quarter but they were nabbed by police when they were trying to sell these stolen goods.
According to police, on July 18, the accused Tej Pratap Singh,18, along with his two friends Mayur Batham and Amit Yadav entered the school premises and escaped with computers, key boards, mouse and speakers.
Police said that the school management had lodged a complaint about the incident at Habibganj police station.
A case was registered by the police after preliminary inspection.
During vehicle checking drive on Sunday, when police stopped a Maruti 800 bearing registration number CG-07-ZD-3576 and asked the driver to show documents of the vehicle, driver of the car could not show the documents.
Police also inquired about the electronic goods kept inside the car but the three youths sitting in the car were also not able to give information about the goods.
Police said that when the youths were questioned, they admitted to burglary and said that on July 18 they had stolen the computer monitor, key board, computer mouse, speaker by breaking the locks of the computer room of the school.
It was learnt that main accused Tej Pratap Singh had not been able to clear his Class 12 exams and got supplementary.
After the results, he decided to bribe for clearing his supplementary exam.
In order to arrange money, he along with his two friends burgled the school and took away electronic goods, but were nabbed while trying to sell these goods.
Police said that Tej Pratap Singh and Amit Yadav were students of the Raja Bhoj Government Higher Secondary School and were aware about the premises and the security of the premises.
