Tanker hits kid to death, mob torches killer vehicle

A speeding tanker hit a child to death near Janata Quarter close to Paras City on Sunday evening. The victim, four-year-old Hasin Ali alias Ashu had come here to  kin’s residence with his parents. Ashu lived in Noorganj close to Mandideep. the family had come to the residence of Anwar Khan.

Police sources said the boy came in the way of a speeding water tanker. The police suspect that the boy ran to see the tanker and came under the wheels. Angry residents gathered on the spot and set fire to the tanker. The police later reached the spot. The driver had fled, leaving the tanker on the road.

Speaking to HT, Anwar said that the kid was made to sit on the road side for defecation by his mother, when the incident occurred.

“The kid’s father had come here to help in whitewashing”, he added. The Habibganj police have registered a case in this regard and have booked the driver for negligent driving causing death.
