The body was found in the forests at Kararia in Berasia on Tuesday late night. A passerby spotted the body and informed the police. Subsequently, the victim was identified on Wednesday. Ajay's father Ramesh Agarwal runs garmentbusiness and has a shop in Chowk area.

Police said that prima facie it seems that the victim was attacked with a sharp- edged weapons. “There were nearly a dozen injury marks. The assailants have inflicted multiple injuries on him. In fact, the killers targeted Ajay with such brutality that there were deep injury marks on the his jaw and ears,” said police officials.

Ajay was married a few years ago but his wife stayed at her parents’ house. Family members told police Ajay had left home with Rs. 2 lakh cash. However, they are unaware about the purpose for which he had taken the money.

The police didn’t find cash in his pockets. It is suspected that the killers motive might have been robbery and that he might have been murdered for the amount which he was carrying. Ajay had parked his scooter near his father’s shop in Chowk. It is also not known how he reached as far as Berasia.

Circumstantial evidences suggest that he was dragged as well. The police found cigarette packets apart from a liquor bottle and water sachets at the scene of crime. It is surmised that the killers made him drink and later attacked him.

The statements of the deceased’s family members and friends are also being recorded. There has been no prime suspect as yet. A case of murder has been registered and investigation has been initiated in this regard.
