Kumble grace tennis website launching occasion

Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble never hesitate to participate in any significant event which is organised to promote sports and its activities.


The legendary spin bowler during his first ever visit to Chhattisgarh on Monday became a part of the launching occasion of Chhattisgarh Tennis Association website -

Kumble and the chief minister Dr Raman Singh jointly inaugurated the web-site of the state tennis association. According to the president of the Association Vikram Singh Sisodiya the state is making its presence felt across the nation in lawn tennis through its achievements.

During the launching Kumble said that India has talent for tennis and state like Chhattisgarh has good potential to excel.

“Presence of spin icon Anil Kumble for the cause of the tennis in Chhattisgarh was very encouraging for the players”, Sisodiya told Hindustan Times. During the recent months the Chhattisgarh Tennis Association has organised two national and one state level events, the president informed.

Dr Raman Singh congratulated the tennis association on the occasion and wished the state players for excellence in performance and create its own niche in the game.

“Previous month the All India Tennis Association allocated a permanent membership to the state tennis Association and allowed voting rights”, the present said.

The launched website has various facts, spotlights, news, history, special events, other information about the popular game.

Former Indian captain Kapil Dev was in Raipur during the under 12 and under 14 All Indian Tennis Tournament held in September last.
